Just as Simba and Mufasa watch over their kingdom, we’re seeking a Plant Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee and guide the entire operational and maintenance team with wisdom, strength, and vision.
In this role you will be responsible in taking a high-level view, ensuring every aspect of the wastewater treatment plant is running smoothly and effectively to deliver safe wastewater treatment for the Perth CBD.
You will lead with wisdom and inspire a dedicated team to uphold high standards, maximising productivity, and minimising downtime.

You will manage a team of 25 workers from Trades to Technical. You are where rubber meets the road, and momentum meets measurable results. Everyday you will be delivering on the core competency of the Water Corporation, delivering safe and effective wastewater treatment!
Your Community appreciate being valued and heard. Your Manager will support and encourage you to think ‘out of the box’ for solution. In this role, the buck stops with you. You will be given the autonomy and authority to make decisions.
You are empathetic, a visionary, and intrigued by creative problem-solving.
The first few months will have you familiarising yourself with our site and the team. You will take time understand the risks and embrace opportunities for finding better solutions.
The long-term plan will be running a sustainable operation of the site, a focus of cost reduction, achieving and succeeding requirements. For instance, with this plant being 100 years old, you will be involved in the planning of major upgrades. This will involve rebuilding of the entire site.
We require a go-getter! To truly excel in this role and steer the team to success, you will have a strong background of leading field-based teams, as well as having a background in technical expertise.
Building strong foundations and relationship across all hierarchy levels will be crucial. You will be working with field operators pulling broken pumps out of a well one second, and then leading a tour to board members or ministers another day. You need to be adaptable as no day will be the same. Does this excite you!?

Engagement, development, and mentoring are essential elements of our leadership model.
Ensure the delivery of products of highly complex processes to receiving customers to the standards set out in supplier agreements and maintains the stakeholder relationships with those customers.
Manage operational input and ensures adequate Operations and Maintenance (O&M) resourcing into the asset acquisition process of major and minor capital works to ensure the operation of the highly complex assigned facilities is not compromised.
Accountable for the preparation, management, and review of the O&M budget for the assigned facilities complex processes in accordance with Corporate and Group Standards and Guidelines, including monthly reporting, quarterly forecasts, and preparation of detailed annual budgets.
Develop strategies, policies, processes, and reviews and manage the application, maintenance and continuous review of operational plans and instructions to optimise the effectiveness and compliance of the assigned facilities business operations.
Liaise with key members of the local community, including regular Community Reference Group meeting attendance in consultation with Communications and Engagement Specialist.
