Operations Support Manager

Job no: 2131

Category: Maintenance, Operations & Reliability

  • Join our South West Region management team based in Bunbury
  • Pivotal position to initiate change and solve problems.
  • Permanent opportunity with flexible working conditions and benefits

Based in Bunbury, known as the City of Three Waters, the place to swim with dolphins, and the popular Farmers Market.

Whether you are local to Bunbury or you may be looking for a sea change, this permanent opportunity as an Operations Support - Manager may be for you.

But your work doesn’t stop at just Bunbury! You will immerse across all parts of the Southwest Region.

From the rolling hills of Bridgetown, to being surrounded by the Karri Forest in Pemberton, to the unspoilt coastline along Margaret River. From Waroona, Collie, Augusta, and everywhere in between, these picturesque places form part of your office on the road!

Forget about having a mundane 9-5 desk job. This role is very balanced role working in office and field-based across the region. There will be extensive day travel within the region, and occasionally travel to the big smoke Perth to participate in forums.

As the Operations Support Manager your focus will be leading and supporting a team of technical, administration and systems support staff while delivering services within the South West community.

The Operations Support function is the conduit between many central process owners and the work that is done in the field. It is a pivotal role which covers a wide breadth of responsibilities including regulatory and technical compliance, project delivery support, work planning, field crew technical support, and business services in the regional office.

As part of the regional lead team, you are in key position to initiate change and solve problems. This could include complex technical, regulatory, operational or asset issues. You will lead investigatory work and define the root cause while seeking a streamlined resolution process.

What you’ll do

Build on employee capability through mentoring, coaching and performance feedback using your experience as a leader to facilitate connections between teams and enhance engagement

Use your exceptional stakeholder management skills and look to build strong relationships with aligned internal service providers to assist in the delivery of their accountabilities within the South West Region

Demonstrate leadership by ensuring all work is undertaken with safety as the priority, where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety

Review operational performance across the Region and identify performance improvement and risk mitigation opportunities

Assist the Regional Manager to manage and report business performance of the region utilising continuous improvement processes that ensure efficient use of resources to meet regional performance objectives

Key skills and experience

Qualification in a relevant discipline and substantial experience in the management and delivery of technical and support services in an infrastructure-based organisation

Exceptional Leadership skills with experience leading and managing an outcome focused team. You have the experience to engage, motivate and inspire the Operational Services team to deliver high performance

Leading and providing customer relationship management within a large multi-disciplined service organisation
