About the role

As a Civil Technical Advisor, you will play an important role in providing expert advice on civil operational matters in the areas of operation, maintenance, and construction of Water Corporation assets.

In the Civil Engineering Operations Support Section, you will provide essential technical support to the operational contingent of WA's principal supplier of water services.

This role will report to the Team Leader – Operations Engineering and will be responsible for undertaking Civil technical support to assist in the provision and management of the state's water services.

What the role will involve

  • Provide technical guidance in essential reactive repair work.
  • Undertake operational and asset investigations, condition assessments, develop solutions and recommendations.
  • Identify asset provision, upgrading and improvement.
  • Investigate work proposals, extensions, and site assessments.
  • Assess technical and economic feasibility of projects.
  • Play a critical role in the protection of Water Corporation assets put at risk by contractor works.
  • Ensure that developer works are delivered to meet design and quality requirements.
  • Assist maintenance planners and work planners with prioritising work.

About you

  • Considerable experience in the water industry with focus on water servicing infrastructure OR relevant trade or civil engineering qualification.
  • Experience in a complex process industry and operations and maintenance environment.
  • Considerable maintenance and asset health experience providing civil engineering and/or technical support in a utility business or a heavy engineering and construction environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn and work across multiple teams to achieve the required outcome.
  • A working knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP is desirable.
  • Australian ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
