About the roles:

  • Aboriginal Heritage & Native Title Specialist
  • This position is pursuant of Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the occupant of this position must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • Permanent position with a salary of $135,693 plus 11.5% Super

As an Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title Management Specialist you will be responsible for leading the development and effective implementation of the cultural heritage and Aboriginal engagement strategies for Water Corporation projects. You will develop and deliver complex approval strategies and obtain statutory approvals under the Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title Acts and other relevant legislation. You will provide expert guidance to the project teams and its contractors throughout the planning and construction phase to minimise risks to heritage, maintain relationships, and ensure the efficient delivery of projects.

This Senior Advisor role involves developing expertise in Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title issues to evaluate projects and provide precise advice for risk mitigation. This ensures the smooth execution of capital projects and operational tasks.

Water Corporation is seeking a dedicated Senior Advisor to join our multi-functional team. In this role, you will design and implement methodologies for a ‘whole of business’ approach to Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title management. You will also develop and deliver policy initiatives and participate in a centre of expertise to ensure effective management.

About you

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and administrative procedures in Western Australia in relation to Aboriginal Heritage and Native Title
  • Considerable experience in community engagement dealing with Aboriginal Heritage and/or Native Title with knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal protocols
  • Relevant experience with working on construction or water infrastructure projects
  • Experience and knowledge in Cultural Heritage Management
  • As you will be travelling across the state, you will need an unrestricted drivers license
