Key Account Manager - Carbon Solutions

Job Description

The Carbon Solutions team key purpose is to assist our customers with the decarbonisation of their business by delivering products, services and solutions, to help them reduce and meet their emission reduction target. Our customers are wide and varied and so are their carbon footprint challenges. This role will be focussed on developing and implementing solutions that are available today whilst working with our internal expertise to help identify and develop new low carbon and energy future pathways.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying common strategy areas, requirements, customer commitments, and coordinates development of the decarbonisation customer experience through account establishment, management and reporting.
  • Working closely with the sales teams across all industries that our commercial business to assist or lead discussions with a wide range of customer offers, and supports tender submissions and sales materials.
  • Building key relationships with decarbonisation focal points across the customer’s sustainability, procurement, technical, operations and commercial divisions.
  • Ongoing development of the customer value proposition and work closely marketing to determine messaging and channels and be responsible for presentation development.
  • Maintaining close collaboration with financial, technical, carbon management and new energies experts/focal points, and currency in customer reporting requirements/legislation to ensure process compliance.
  • Accountable for complex commercial negotiations including pricing mechanisms to ensure profitability and integrated margin opportunities.
  • Identifying new carbon solutions demonstration projects/new capabilities and work with key internal /external stakeholders to build business case and gain internal sign off.
  • Need to be able to handle a large number of customer opportunities at various stages of the sales pipeline and manage conflicting priorities
  • The role is to be based in Melbourne

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications – business, technical degree or industry experience
  • Experience in quantitative analysis and presentation skills
  • Experience with commercial pricing, credit and demand forecasting
  • Developing and maintaining a strong pipeline and ability to close out deals
  • Flexible and curious in your approach and be able to handle ambiguity when dealing with multiple industry sectors
  • Ability to think on your feet and invest in your own learning to understand customer processes, equipment and new technologies to help identify solutions and projects that will help us deliver low carbon opportunities to our customers, over the short, medium and longer timeframes.
  • Hold internal teams and senior management accountable for action items and key deliverables – this role is all about working through others and also keeping sales teams / internal stakeholders updated
  • Diligent with the use of Salesforce as this will form a major part of ensuring tracking of opportunities
  • Willing to travel intra/interstate to attend conferences, customer presentations and represent the company at various industry associations
