About the role: 
As the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Coordinator / Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the LIMS to provide efficient laboratory services and meet the requirements of the AS ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:
  

  • Setup and control of user access, user privileges and authorised approvers, and assist in developing and maintaining client information databases.
  • Setup of test configurations including Limit of Reporting, Measurement Uncertainty, NATA accreditation status, test method codes, units of measurement and calculation algorithms.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures required for grouping of analysis to meet end user and NATA requirements.
  • Develop sample type templates for routine analysis and major laboratory testing projects.
  • Establish quality control details to meet the requirements of AS ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
  • User preferences including dynamic calculations, and excel export settings; and
  • Configure LIMS to create analytical batch, worksheet templates and workgroups to assist with efficient workflow practices.
  • Manage the Lab inbox to ensure that external laboratory reports, external laboratory invoices and customer service requests for water testing are actioned appropriately.
  • Supervise and train staff in the operation of LIMS including the development of LIMS training programs and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate the project requests from internal Unitywater stakeholders and set up projects in LIMS.
  • Respond to quotation requests from internal and external customers as per the approved laboratory service costs.
  • Generate the monthly invoice report for internal and external clients.
  • Monitor sampling, field testing and lab testing programs' performance and liaise with internal and external stakeholders with monthly performance reports.

  
About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Science (major in Chemistry or Microbiology) with significant experience with LIMS in analytical laboratories.
  • Demonstrated advanced ability to utilise computer software including Microsoft Excel, and SQL queries.
  • Excellent demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of AS ISO/IEC 17025: General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, including completion of the NATA training course on understanding NATA’s ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Completion of the NATA Quality Management in the Laboratory and NATA Internal Audits training courses is desirable.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally, coordinate analytical projects, and gain positive feedback from the team members and customers.
  • Demonstrated experience working on quotation, financial reporting, LIMS invoicing, stakeholder engagement and achieving quality outcomes on time.
