About the role: 
As a Lab Assistant in the microbiology laboratory, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the lab which include laboratory analysis.  Key accountabilities will include however not limited to:  

  • Sample preparation in accordance with laboratory test method and quality management system requirements.
  • The analysis of water and wastewater in accordance with the laboratory quality management system to meet NATA requirements, including recording of data, calculation of results and production of results in a timely manner.
  • Assist Lab Technicians and Analysts in more complex analysis of water and wastewater samples.
  • Operation and maintenance of basic laboratory equipment and general duties.
  • Operation of LIMS to prepare worksheets, enter data and locate job registration details. 
  • Assist in other relevant duties as directed.
