About the role: 
We are looking for someone with a strong knowledge of water and sewerage infrastructure construction techniques to join our team as a Contracts Inspector – Electrical. In this critical role, you will be responsible for inspecting and auditing the installation and commissioning of process electrical systems to ensure they comply with Unitywater’s design requirements, safety standards, and legislative obligations.  This position plays an essential role in maintaining quality and compliance across water and wastewater infrastructure projects and supports project success by working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and representatives from the Principal and Superintendent.

  • A current QLD Electrical Licence (unrestricted). Relevant qualifications in electrical trade-Electrical Fitter / Mechanical or dual trade – Certificate III.
  • Instrumentation and Control Technician Certificate III.
  • Current LVR/CPR, Working at Heights, and Confined Space certifications (desirable).
  • A strong understanding of SCADA/PLC systems, radio and TCP/IP communications, and instrumentation used in the water industry.
  • A strong understanding of motor soft starters, variable speed drives.
  • Field experience and competency in overseeing contractors and directing labour construction activities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain strong communication with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, engineering drawings, ITPs, and compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards.
