About the role: 
As a Contract Administrator, you will be instrumental in managing and administering contracts within a collaborative framework agreement and during the post-award stage of construction projects and services across multiple projects within the Water and Sewerage Portfolio.  You’ll work closely with project teams to facilitate communication, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and perform the full suite of contract administration tasks including but not limited to the processing of claims to support timely payments and contractual notices. You’ll also attend contract management meetings, prepare reports, and play a key role in identifying and managing commercial risks. With responsibility for programs valued up to $100 million p/a, you’ll help to ensure effective delivery and commercial outcomes across Unitywater’s capital works portfolio.  Your key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
  

  • Be a liaison between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication on contractual obligations, changes and milestones.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contract terms are understood and followed, facilitating project execution, and fostering professional relationships.
  • Manage contract budgets and expenditures, with responsibility for accurate financial tracking, reporting, and preparation of forecasts and variance analyses
  • Implement cost control measures and help identify cost-saving opportunities, to improve project outcomes.
  • Prepare, review and administer contract documentation to meet project needs and legal requirements, while maintaining compliant and current contract records.
  • Apply and interpret key elements of works delivery and construction contracts, including Australian Standard Conditions of Contract and other bespoke contract documentation.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executives, internal customers, and suppliers to deliver project success and organisational goals.

  • Demonstrated experience in a contracts administration position, ideally within a similar industry.
  • Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions.
  • Experience in Minor Contracts (subcontracts, supply contracts and consultancy agreements).
  • High level written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence optimal commercial outcomes and provide quality customer service.
  • Strong analytical, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the MS Office products and familiarity with contract management and financial management software.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Business, Commerce, Project Management, Law or related discipline will be advantageous but not essential.
