About the role:
As the Asset Strategy Specialist, you will provide high level technical advice in ensuring Unitywater’s infrastructure continues to meet with regulatory and customer expectations with an emphasis on achieving the asset management objectives. You will lead the ongoing development of the Unitywater Asset Management Framework and Improvement Plans, delivery of key strategic projects to deliver on the corporate strategic plan, and develop models and approaches to optimise Capex, Opex and Risk. This is a hands-on and key strategic position in which your accountabilities will include but not be limited to:
  

  • Maintain and update the Unitywater Asset Management Framework and supporting documentation to ensure it is current, aligned to ISO55000, and consistent with Unitywater’s sustainability ambitions.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives from the Strategic Asset Management Plan, Network and STP Asset Management Plans, and Asset Class Strategies are documented in the Unitywater Asset Management Improvement Program
  • Identify key strategic projects from the Asset Management Improvement program and lead the development of business cases and project management plans to deliver these projects.
  • Engage with the business to ensure buy in and fit for purpose solutions are identified.
  • Develop and maintain CAPEX/OPEX/Risk models to support Asset Management Planning, 30 Year Renewal Forecasts, long-term maintenance resource profiles and understand implications for asset risk.

  • Significant experience developing and implementing asset strategies for water and wastewater assets.
  • Demonstrated experience in asset management and maintenance of water supply, sewerage and recycled water assets, with a focus on long term planning.
  • Strong project and contract management experience, including development of business cases, consultancy briefs, tender documents, budget proposals, engagement, and management of consultancies.
  • Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of Asset Management Systems aligned with ISO55000.
  • Well-developed communication skills and a proven ability to draft correspondence, reports and procedures, coupled with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
