About the role

We have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Engineer joining our engineering advisory team in Leederville, reporting to the Senior Principal – Process Engineering. You’ll have the opportunity to shape improvement initiatives across all engineering disciplines by undertaking, managing and supporting the efficient design and delivery of ‘fit for purpose’ water and wastewater infrastructure assets.

As a senior technical engineer, you’ll also provide technical support and advice to planners, designers, constructors and operators as well as set our standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to help Water Corporation adopt a more sustainable, reliable and easier approach to providing one of life's essentials, water.

What the role will involve

  • Provide specialist technical advice on water and wastewater related engineering criteria and design standards.
  • Undertake continuous review and improvement of quality processes and best practice design, and feed into lessons learnt process.
  • Coach and mentor others promoting a high performing delivery culture and collaboration across sections.
  • Manage the development and delivery of engineering designs and technical reports using in-house or external resources.
  • Undertake studies, research and engineering investigations to improve the performance of existing assets.
  • Represent Water Corporation in consultations and negotiations with industry forums, government agencies, local authorities, consultants, developers and community groups.

Key skills and experience

You’ll have a degree level qualification in an engineering discipline, along with considerable engineering experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure assets. You’ll also have experience in and advanced knowledge of design, project management, asset management or operations. Your demonstrated leadership, and ability to mentor, collaborate and influence both internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
