We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Payroll Manager to lead the operational delivery of payroll services across HCF on a 6 month contract ( with possible extension ) This role is pivotal in ensuring payroll compliance, driving process improvement, and supporting the implementation of our future HRIS roadmap.
As Payroll Manager at HCF (6 month contract) you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of payroll services across the organisation. You’ll manage a team of experienced payroll professionals and collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, IT, and external audit partners.
This role is central to ensuring payroll operations are accurate, compliant, and aligned with evolving business needs. You’ll oversee payroll processing, audits, tax and superannuation compliance, and contribute to the HRIS transformation project—designing, testing, and implementing new systems and processes. You’ll also play a key role in risk mitigation, control testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
You’re a seasoned payroll leader with over 12 years’ experience in payroll and at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a highly regulated industry. You bring deep expertise in payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and award interpretation, and have a proven track record of managing audits and compliance.
You’re confident leading teams, developing talent, and driving strategic change. You’ve successfully implemented payroll systems and contributed to broader HRIS transformations. You’re comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and thrive in cross-functional environments.
