About the Role
The Manager Protocol is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs to support the Governor's constitutional, ceremonial, and community responsibilities. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality ceremonies, events and engagements that adhere to protocol and operational standards while maintaining flexibility to suit specific occasions.
This role requires strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills, as well as the ability to uphold the dignity and traditions of the Vice Regal office while ensuring the seamless delivery of diverse and complex programs.

- You have a strong understanding of contemporary Australian protocols for official engagements and functions.
- You are familiar with ceremonial, diplomatic, and cultural practices relevant to formal events.
- You can manage VIPs, dignitaries, and other high-profile guests with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
- You have a proven track record in planning and executing events/functions to the highest standard.
- You can coordinate logistics, manage timelines, and ensure seamless execution of events.
- You display strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage a team and liaise effectively with stakeholders, clients, and service providers
About Government House Sydney
Government House is the official residence and seat of administration of the Governor of New South Wales – the oldest public office in Australia. As The Sovereign’s representative in New South Wales, the Governor exercises the powers and authority of the Head of State on his behalf. The staff at Government House provide all the necessary support to allow the Governor to fulfil those constitutional as well as ceremonial and community functions.
Further, Government House is a site of enormous cultural and heritage significance for the people of New South Wales and the venue for important ceremonial and community occasions. Government House staff maintain and conserve the buildings and site for future generations.
