Technical Business Analyst


This position exists to fully understand the scope of the business needs, manage and define the backlog, elicit and deliver the business analysis and Technical artefacts necessary to support IT solution delivery in the most effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a good understanding of the business needs and strategies to support the development of high-quality business analysis artefacts that underpin effective IT solution delivery
  • Accountable for the creation of business analysis artefacts such as requirements, technical specifications, application/process workflows, use cases, screen mock-ups, user stories, integration mapping and technical impact assessments
  • Provide information to others regarding the business analysis artefacts to support IT solution design, development, testing and implementation activities
  • Ensure that that business analysis artefacts take an end-to-end perspective, fully meet the desired business objectives, and consider operational support processes
  • Collaborates with business subject matter experts to form a good understanding of business needs, existing and future processes as well as problems that need to be resolved during the IT delivery
  • Provides support and counsel to architectures, developers, testers, and others regarding business and technical requirements throughout the solution delivery cycle to ensure quality, timely outcomes
  • Responsible for building, editing, and maintaining the project backlog and execution of project priorities
  • Translates project scope/features into well-defined requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate to ensure that the business needs are understood, translated into requirement deliverables for use in the development of solutions


Essential Skills

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to context switch
  • Strong understanding of Digital Analytics, tag management and tools
  • Experience in working all phases of systems development lifecycle using Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and hybrid application development environments
  • Strong documentation and critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including ability to create and maintain documentation like use cases, user stories, and business and technical requirements documents
  • Strong understanding of CUSTOMER DATA PLATFORM (CDP) technologies, data pipelines, and data warehousing concepts would be a strong plus
  • Good understanding of the principles of system design, database concepts and coding
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on effective client relationships
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral with attention to detail
