Senior Manager - Data Science Strategy


Join HCF in this newly created role as Senior Manager - Data Strategy

Reporting into our Chief Data Scientist, this role is responsible for

  • Continual development of the HCF Data Science Strategy and alignment with the broader business strategy.
  • Ability to understand complex needs and anticipate requirements.
  • Work directly with members of ELT and SLT to determine current and emerging needs and align Data Science projects accordingly
  • Facilitate forums with a wide range of internal stakeholders for the purposes of design, alignment and determining roles and responsibilities with regards to Data Science solutions and value capture.
  • Building the library of DS/AI use cases required by the business.
  • Interviewing stakeholders.
  • Becoming conversant with current and emerging business strategies.
  • Order of magnitude estimates of value, effort and risk.
  • Architecting MVP’s and then building roadmaps to more mature versions of products.


• Light touch collation and documentation of value captured through data projects for the purposes of

  • Prioritisation processes.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Business case development.
  • Reporting into relevant governance bodies at HCF.
  • Development and documentation of business requirements (alongside relevant peers) for material MXDD data solutions.

  • • Provide a persistent scan of the external data marketplace to

    • Identify relevant data sources that would be valuable additions to HCF DS/AI projects.
    • Monitor emerging trends in tech and algorithms.
  • Development, documentation and authoring of the HCF AI Scorecard
    • Build and drive HCF’s “Bootstrap Community”.
    • Facilitate monthly information sessions.
    • Work with HCF L&D to identify relevant personas and identify learning pathways to uplift HCF’s data maturity.
  • Be the “Point person” keeping Data Science projects aligned to HCF’s Responsible AI Policy, and guide Data Science projects to meet the needs of relevant governance forums.
