The Platforms Engineer reports to the Platforms Operations Manager and is responsible implementing, and maintaining the platform infrastructure to support HCF's digital operations. This role involves administering automation services for system deployment and configuration, implementing security measures, and managing both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
Key Tasks:
•Assist in the design and implementation of platform infrastructure.
•Administer automation services for system deployment and configuration.
•Implement security measures.
•Assist in managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
•Provide second-level support for technical issues and escalate complex problems
•Regularly monitor system performance and health and investigate issue.
•Perform routine system maintenance and updates.
•Assist in managing backup and disaster recovery processes.
•Maintain and update system documentation.
•Report incidents and manage incident resolution
•Work collaboratively with team members to support platform operations.
•Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills.
•Assist in platform-related projects.
•Communicate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates.
Essentials
• Minimum of 2-3 years in system administration or platform engineering roles.
• Demonstrable knowledge of virtualisation, storage, networking, and cloud services.
• Demonstrable knowledge of server operating systems and their configuration.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and best practices.
• Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have experience in interacting with vendors for hardware and software support.
• Experience in supporting technical projects
Desirable (Must have at least two out of the following)
•Experience in a regulated industry, such as APRA.
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry certification and experience.
•Experience in taking on leadership responsibilities in projects.
•Demonstrated experience with VMware, Windows Sever or Linux operating systems.
•Experience with M365, Intune and Conditional Access policies.
•Basic understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
•Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
