General Manager, International Business


As a General Manager, International Business you will have a passion for driving growth and transformation.

As a member of our Senior Leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the strategy for our International Business. Leveraging your extensive technical expertise and experience, you will lead a high-performing team and serve as the primary operational and strategic representative for our end-to-end International Business channel. This role emphasizes key deliverables of growth and transformation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and enhance capabilities within each line of business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the business plan for International Business inline with the HCF Group Strategy and collaborate with the Chief Officer to secure approval from the HCF Executive Team and Board. Ensure optimal operations of International Business by designing and recommending effective management processes, operating systems, and technologies.
  • Operational accountability for profit and loss, ensuring the delivery of key strategic objectives and results. Provide comprehensive first-line risk oversight for the unique risks presented by this diversified insurance business unit.
  • Build a strong, trusted brand image and cultivate a highly supportive customer base across all key segments. Continuously keep the business informed about trends and developments in member requirements and their satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the International Business team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Implement appropriate succession planning and leadership development.

Experience:

  • Deep Health Insurance experience with 10+ years of senior management experience with demonstrated experience in Product, Operations, Distribution, Marketing and / or Financce roles.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a high performing and complex environment
  • Experience working with regulators including APRA, ACCC, and ATO on insurance industry matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management and change management ability
  • Excellent leadership and demonstrated team management skills, with the ability to inspire, lead and manage a diverse team of Health professionals
  • Transformation experience – strategic idea conception and delivering business transformational change
  • Tertiary qualifications in sales or business-related discipline.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a high performing and complex environment
