Digital Marketing Performance Analyst


As part of the Analytics, Performance & Insights team the role will be to work on and proactively identify areas of opportunity or business problems within marketing and digital channels and provide data driven member insights and recommendations that are actionable, scientifically backed yet easy to understand to support the HCF business and members.

Digital Marketing Performance Analyst - 12 month fixed-term contract

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of marketing digital initiatives and business problems (from growth to retention, marketing and web analytics, member experience and CDP across our owned digital channels including web and member apos) and aspire to be a marketing digital data and business SME that will directly influence the tactical and strategic decision-making process at HCF. This role will be responsible for providing proactive insights and recommendations to drive the Marketing teams with insights and analysis to drive growth and engagement strategies across our digital ecosystem.

This highly technical role is a blend of proactive performance and insights from our online channels and requires strong data and analytical skills, attention to detail, translating numbers into insights and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills to pull data from a multitude of different systems and have the ability to translate the numbers into actionable insights, that need to be deciphered for the business.

Your role will be part of a broader Audience Centre of Excellence (ACE), comprising of Media, Member Marketing Journeys, Automation and Analytics, focusing on identification of trends, recommendations, key areas of opportunity across the offline, online and media pillars to demonstrate and put Marketing and the MMMA team in a position of proactive activity. A key focus is building strong, cross-functional ways of working and working with one large MMMA team to share your natural ability to see trends as they happen and make recommendations and identify key areas of opportunity ahead of time.

Essential Experience

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in an Digital Insights/Digital analytics role
  • Degree-level qualifications, with preference for degrees in mathematics, applied finance, statistics, actuarial or a related analytical field
  • Advanced SQL coding expertise querying large and complex datasets
  • Online analytics experience essential combined with a good understanding of offline analytics
  • Experience working with Member Journey and Marketing team
  • Customer Journey experience
  • Previous experience in turning raw data into actionable, value-adding insights and recommendations, tell a story (build and present packs), with a proven track record of successfully influencing the business
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to overlay commercial acumen to develop insights and recommendations – challenging the business when required
  • Experience analysing large, complex and high-volume relational data sets with tools such as
    • SQL Server,
    • SAS Enterprise
    • Miner,
    • Tableau Prep,
    • Microsoft Access
  • Experience with web analytics
  • Experience with data visualisation tools
