Automation Specialist


The Automation Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated solutions to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations and business processes. The primary objective of this role is to drive innovation and operational excellence by automating repetitive tasks and workflows within the IT landscape.

Key tasks:

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities within business processes including infrastructure management, application deployment and system monitoring or broader business applications
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows to minimise manual tasks and enhance service delivery across the business landscape
  • Continuously analyse and improve existing automation solutions to enhance efficiency and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational excellence
  • Work with business teams to identify automation opportunities and gather requirements for developing solutions
  • Support the service transition process by ensuring changes to services and service management processes and carried out in a coordination way.
  • Monitor the performance of automation solutions and generate reports to track their effectiveness and impact on service delivery.

Essentials:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in support or infrastructure - preferably DevOps.
  • Experience with Power Automate is advantageous, as is experience with LLMs and leveraging AI models to enhance decision-making in process automation. Coding experience is also beneficial. 
  • Experience with UiPath or similar RPA system
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Proven experience in IT service management, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Technical proficiency in developing automation scripts and tools
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – effectively communicate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Experience working in an organisation that uses ITIL framework and best practices.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in large fast passed organisation or enterprise
  • ITIL Intermediate certifications.
