Maintenance Engineer- Mechanical
The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic Maintenance and Utilities – Maintenance Services Team working afternoon shift. The department provides essential engineering and maintenance support services on the CSL Behring Broadmeadows site. You'll lead and inspire the Bulk Mechanical team. You will collaborate with Operations staff, Electrical & Instrumentation, System Owner Group, Planning & Support Group , and Quality to ensure our plant and equipment operate reliably.
This is a permanent opportunity and will require working in afternoon shifts.
The Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Maintenance Services Mechanical & Refrigeration, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide leadership and supervision for Bulk Mechanical Technicians; manage maintenance activities during facility shutdown periods.
- Ensure preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently.
- Investigate process, plant, and equipment failures, determine the cause of failure, and develop permanent solutions.
- Provide technical advice in Bulk Manufacturing facilities on-site, and also provide support to Filling & Packaging facilities.
- Deliver KPI's relevant to the Bulk Mechanical team.
- Develop close working relationships with personnel in Operations, Electrical & Instrumentation, System Owner Group, Planning & Support Group, and Quality.
- Maintain training and documentation relevant to the mechanical team.
- Provide maintenance and engineering solutions to improve plant and equipment reliability.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar maintenance engineering position.
- Experience in a GMP Pharmaceutical environment would be an advantage but not essential.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of maintenance systems RCM, 5S and TPM and familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Comfortable working an afternoon shift.
