As a Software Engineer - DevOps, you'll be at the heart of ensuring smooth integration and deployment of our cutting-edge software solutions. Your duties will include:

  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD workflows to streamline software release processes.
  • Build and manage scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure using IaC principles.
  • Develop scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational tasks.
  • Set up monitoring and logging solutions, respond to incidents, and ensure system performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to foster a DevOps culture and resolve technical challenges.
  • Implement security measures, perform vulnerability assessments, and maintain clear documentation.

Location: Kensington (Perth) WA, or Marsfield (Sydney) NSW

Salary: AU$114,219.00 - AU$123,605.00 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 2 years

To be considered you will need:

Essential

Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree relevant to software engineering/computer science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in use of scripting tools for task automation.
  • Proficiency building and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker).
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in Linux environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience using Cmake.
  • Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) or cloud computing environments.
  • Experience with software for scientific data processing.
  • Computer Networking experience.
  • Interest in astronomy.
