The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO’s digital health research unit delivering innovation to the health system. As technology and data volumes surge to improve our understanding of health and life sciences, the medical industry faces unprecedented challenges. Therefore, as Australia’s largest eHealth research group, we are at the forefront of developing pioneering bioinformatics solutions for research and industry.
Our researchers in the ‘Transformational Bioinformatics’ group uses cutting edge cloud-native genomics for health research. Joining this wider group as a Research Projects Officer, you will be key part of our dynamic ‘Genome Insights’ team, that focuses on building novel digital products which leverage new technologies in cloud computing and machine learning. These products deliver translational impact in the fields of precision medicine, environment and agriculture across academic, government and commercial sectors.
In this multi-faceted role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders in the areas of both precision population and environmental genomics. You will apply your genome analytics and statistical genetics domain knowledge to evaluate new bioinformatics technology for the annotation and prioritisation of clinically-relevant genomic variants and develop novel research approaches for multi-omic analysis, as well as tackling other emerging issues.
