CSIRO are seeking an Executive Manager, Talent Acquisition to lead and coach an experienced, national team of talent professionals delivering end to end recruitment consultation and support to science, research and professional services business units.

Reporting to the General Manager - Launch & Careers and accountable for a talent acquisition and services team of 35, the Executive Manager Talent Acquisition (TA) ensures the delivery of all recruitment operational services, continuous improvement projects and management of external supplier relationships.

In addition, this role works closely with CSIRO Communications and Branding to evaluate, adapt and promote the unique employee value proposition of CSIRO globally to attract, engage and connect with the best science and research talent.

Your duties will include:

  • Lead, coach, support and motivate the TA leadership team to provide an outstanding Hiring Manager and Candidate experience at all stages of the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Scope, plan and lead major TA recruitment campaigns and continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying solutions to ensure delivery to plan, meeting of performance metrics, project risk and post implementation evaluation activities.
  • Drive innovation in technology and process improvements in line with leading TA practices including the review and streamlining of policies and processes to create more efficient and effective and customer focused service delivery.
  • Maintain existing performance cycles and resources, customer and candidate feedback mechanisms and continued clarity of team and individual performance measures.
  • Work closely with business units to understand strategic workforce plans and how TA will support achievement of those requirements through planning and service execution.
  • Provide high-level strategic advice to the Executive, Directors and Research Directors concerning business unit talent gaps and search and recruitment solutions to address.
  • Communicate openly, effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s reputation

Location: (Hybrid work arrangement) Brisbane QLD, Melbourne Vic, Canberra ACT, Sydney NSW

Salary: AU$152k - AU$168k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 12 months

To be considered you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or other relevant higher degree, and/or significant relevant experience at senior executive level in a complex government agency or science and research organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience as strategic, consultative and effective senior TA leader.
  • Significant experience leading TA in a large scale, multi-disciplinary organisation (involving both volume and specialised roles).
  • Evidence of highly developed knowledge, skills and exposure to effective, modern and innovative Talent Acquisition methods.
  • Experience in developing an employment brand and employee value proposition.
  • A strong history of establishing and working effectively in teams and a record of leadership which encourages new ideas, builds trust and provides support for skill development.
  • A significant record of digital innovation and creativity and the ability to incorporate innovative ideas and creative approaches into TA related projects.
  • Willingness and ability to travel interstate as required to meet with TA teams, People colleagues and business unit leaders.
