What the day will look like

The Bid Management team is part of Aon’s Growth Operations team and performs a key role in new and retention opportunities. The team is made up of highly skilled, motivated and knowledgeable colleagues who use their knowledge of Aon, our clients and industries to propose a compelling value proposition.

 

Responsibilities will include

  • Bid Planning and Execution: Oversee the end-to-end bid process from planning, co-ordination and execution of bid activities to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Proposal development: Craft compelling and competitive proposals that meet client requirements and highlight Aon’s strengths.
  • Collaboration with Bid Designers: Work closely with bid designers to create visually appealing and professional bid documents that effectively communicate Aon’s value proposition.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including sales, servicing, broking, claims and legal for the preparation, review and submission of a cohesive bid response across the entire Aon Risk Solutions business.
  • Process Optimisation: Continuously seek ways to streamline the bid process and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Content Management: Contribute to the maintenance of bid content, including templates, case studies and standard responses to ensure consistency and quality in all submissions.
  • Pitch and Presentation: Develop and deliver persuasive pitches and presentations to clients, showcasing Aon’s capabilities and value propositions.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on the performance of submitted bids, including feedback from clients and stakeholders.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales materials that support the overall sales process.
  • Coaching and Workshop: Provide coaching and support to team members to deliver Aon’s value proposition using effective presentation techniques.
  • Organise post-mortem RFP session to distil best practices and improve the answer process efficiency

This Bid Manager role is instrumental to Aon’s growth agenda and the commercial success of Aon in the region. You will be responsible for assisting the Bid and Pitch process end-to-end, including strategic involvement in new client prospecting by assisting the sales teams across the region.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bid Management Experience: With at least 5 years proven experience in managing the end-to-end bid process, including proposal writing, presentation development and stakeholder management.
  • Industry Knowledge: While experience in the general insurance industry is advantageous, candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply as diverse industry experience highly valuable for this multi-product role.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, managing relationships and expectations.
  • Compliance and Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure bid documents are error-free and compliant.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint: Advanced skills in creating, formatting and editing documents and presentations, including the use of templates, styles and design elements to produce professional and visually appealing bid materials.
  • Content Maintenance: Contribute to the ongoing organisation and update of a centralised content library, ensuring all bid-related materials, templates and case studies are accurate and easily accessible.
