Client Director – Trade Credit

A rare opportunity has become available for an accomplished and experienced Client Director to join our Trade Credit team, based in Melbourne. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Aon offices.

As a Client Director, you are responsible for the delivery of Aon client service as well as the development of innovative, best-in-class solutions for our existing and prospective Trade Credit clients. The position will report to the Head of Trade Credit, Australia.

What the day will look like

  • Responsible for the retention and growth of Aon clients, including sales strategy development and execution
  • Leading the structuring, negotiation, and management of complex Credit Insurance programs
  • Providing strategic guidance and oversight to ensure exceptional client relationship management and retention
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand our Trade Credit offering, including cross-sell and new business initiatives
  • Achieving and exceeding revenue targets for retention and growth, both within existing accounts and through new business development
  • Collaborates with Aon colleagues and third-party partners (e.g., carriers) to ensure clients receive solutions that meet their needs Proactively builds strategic external partnerships and relationships to fulfill client needs
  • Designs and delivers marketing activities linked to overall regional business plan
  • Drives growth, innovation, performance standards and capability building
  • Mentor and assisting junior team members.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

This position requires a dynamic and influential leader with deep technical knowledge and a proven track record in Trade Credit. You will bring:

  • Extensive senior experience within broking or underwriting with a minimum 3 years in a management role
  • Exceptional understanding of credit insurance solutions and credit risk management for large, sophisticated clients.
  • Extensive trade credit insurance mandatory; structured credit and surety knowledge and experience are highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to achieving sustainable growth with existing and new clients

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills at a C-suite level
