We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development professional who is keen to grow their career.

You will oversee the development of new business opportunities across NSW for HIAIS. We specialise in residential building and construction insurance and are looking for someone with industry expertise and connections, as well as insurance broking experience to drive continual business growth in the region.

HIA is Australia’s only national building industry association, representing the interests of the housing industry at regional and national levels. Their extensive membership program for the last 70 years has supported residential builders, trade contractors, developers, design professionals and more.

What the day will look like

  • Driving new business sales across HIAIS NSW.
  • Engage with prospective clients, understanding their requirements and partnering with our expert brokerage team to demonstrate HIAIS capabilities.
  • Managing an ongoing sales pipeline
  • Cross-selling Aon/HIAIS products to client network
  • Negotiating with insurers and clients on risks outside of underwriting guidelines
  • Responsible for achieving new business targets and reporting results regularly.
  • Leverage internal CRM system to maintain up-to-date client and prospect data

 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

This position will suit someone with the following skills/experience:

  • Insurance broking experience is highly desirable
  • Home Warranty and Building/Construction industry experience – highly regarded
  • Ability to develop and manage professional relationships across a vast and diverse stakeholder base
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Collaborative approach to business development, leveraging internal resources and business groups
  • Understanding of insurance related terms, processes, products and regulations
  • Tier 1 Insurance Broking accreditation
