We have a number of programmes for employees to be recognised by their leaders and their peers.

Staff benefits

Discounts on home loans, personal loans, credit cards, superannuation and KiwiSaver options and a family benefits package are just a few of the great banking benefits you receive as a Westpac employee.

Superannuation

Westpac employees are offered the option of superannuation scheme called ‘In-Tandem’

Employee contributions can begin at 4% of salary and after two years of continuous service, Westpac will provide an employer contribution of 6%. For management staff, Westpac will contribute 10%.

Westpac will also meet all management and administration charges for the Scheme.

Banking package

Our special banking package for permanent and fixed term staff has a range of banking discounts and benefits including credit card interest rate discounts and fee-free everyday banking.

Medical insurance

Westpac’s health insurance plan is administered by Southern Cross. There’s a variety of options, and employees that join within three months of starting a job could be eligible to get cover for pre-existing conditions.

Parental leave programme

Employees with at least 12 months continuous service, and who work more than 10 hours per week, may be eligible for our parental leave programme. This programme offers:

  • a ‘top up’ to government paid parental leave
  • a return to work incentive payment for most people
  • a baby gift pack
  • parents’ centre membership
  • a contact plan to help keep you informed on what’s happening at Westpac
  • graduated return to work

Career break and time out

Take time to reflect, study or take an overseas trip. ‘Time out’ provides unpaid leave for up to 12 weeks, and a ‘career break’ provides unpaid leave for up to 12 months.
