CSL Behring, a global biopharmaceutical leader driven by our promise to save and improve lives, is looking for an Associate Director, BPT Governance, Risk Management & Compliance who will be responsible for leading & managing Digital Technology Project/Portfolio Governance, Risk Management, Compliance activities and initiatives across the Business Process & Technology (BPT) portfolio of projects & programs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leads and provides oversight and coordination of all Digital Portfolio governance methodologies and practices and coordinates with Digital Delivery & Data leadership team to ensure that all project success criteria, goals and milestones are achieved through the application of established processes and success factors.
  • Oversees and executes established Digital Portfolio governance methodologies and processes which includes Digital Portfolio project Governance Stage Gate reviews spanning the Digital Technology project's SDLC stages which include Plan, Design, Build, Test & Deploy phases
  • Collaborates in the development of Business Cases from a Governance, Risk and Compliance perspective in line with Project Execution Leads and PM's in preparation for Governance Reviews
  • A key partner with the Project Initiation and Definition Lead & Project Delivery Leads (PDL) to execute business readiness assessments (BRA) and change readiness assessments (CRA) regarding Digital Technology projects and programs in order to effectively measure project performance for these criteria leading up to key Governance Stage Gates and key decision points

Additional Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for Project/Program information from a GRC (Governance\Risk\Compliance) is sufficiently complete, accurate and timely to enable appropriate portfolio decision making during Governance Reviews and Stage Gates
  • Ensures key Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) information is documented and communicated among the BPT Portfolio Team and Execution Leads, as well as the Executive Team
  • Leads project Stage Gate reviews and provides key Stage Gate control mechanisms to ensure that project/program strategies, directions and instructions from Portfolio Management Team, and Execution Leads are carried out systematically and effectively.
  • Responsible for coordinating and leading all governance activities and ensure that relevant project/program Governance Stage Gate milestones are achieved through the application of established GRC methodologies
  • Assesses, documents and reports on project/program Risks and is accountable to coordinate and establish appropriate Project Scoping and Business Case development policies and procedures for presentation to Governance Committees acting as the liaison between the Project Execution Leads, Business Partners, Portfolio Management, Senior Management and line management
  • Effectively collaborates across Digital Delivery & Data Leadership to research and raise up enhanced methods of measuring (Quantitative & Qualitative metrics) Digital Technology project value & impact and the application of governance practices within the portfolio to ensure key organizational objectives are met
  • Maintains a holistic set of principles that include the needs and expectations of key stakeholders across Business Technology (BT) ,Finance, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Quality, and business functions to measure readiness of Digital Technology project(s) as each proceeds through the key Governance Stage Gate process
  • From a Risk Management perspective, collaborates and partners with project teams in the effective adoption and continued use of risk management principles, including the identification of RAIDS (Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions) to effectively measure portfolio/project health and ensure that risks and issues are visible to key stakeholders well ahead of any project/program milestones or stage gate decisions
  • Collaborates and partners with Clarity team members in order to develop data visualization reports to communicate project RAIDs across the portfolio and to the Digital Portfolio steering committee. Supports the Project Delivery Leads (PDL) in the effective remediation of RAIDs that require attention or escalation to governance bodies or other groups within CSL to ensure that project scope, quality, budget and other relevant project success criteria are not compromised and risks are mitigated with connected planning
  • From an Assurance perspective, develops project/program assurance criteria for the Digital Technology portfolio and for the LT to apply to the portfolio of projects. Where necessary, partners with auditors for internal reviews in support of Steering Committees or the ARMC (Audit and Risk Management Committee)
  • Collaborates with Portfolio Management Lead and Head of Digital Delivery & Data (DD&D) to prepare and schedule Project Health Check review meetings, Governance Stage Gate reviews, PMO/Administration meetings, and other key organizational meetings, that are required to enable projects to progress through their key Portfolio Governance stage gates. Documents and facilitates RAID inventory and proactively communicates to Portfolio team members to maintain business clarity and information continuity. Develops and maintain a schedule of key reviews for each project team and distributes to responsible team members/parties ahead of key stage gate/governance meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant discipline; education in a technical discipline preferred; MBA/advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in project/portfolio management
  • 7+ years' demonstrated Governance/team management experience
  • Experience within pharmaceutical/biotech/other regulated industry preferred Project Management certification (PMP, PMI or IPMA) desirable
  • Lean Six Sgma or similar experience desired
  • Demonstrated experience with business case development and value stream management
