Business Improvement Consultant


About the Role

The Business Improvement Consultant is responsible for identifying and implementing process and business improvement opportunities to enable optimal services to be delivered to our Members, improve the effectiveness and impact of services and improve operational efficiency.

This role reports to Operations Manager, Claims. This is a permanent, full time opportunity with hybrid working available, based in Parramatta.  

You will work as a key SME for continuous improvement initiatives for the Claims team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring cross-functionality impacts are identified across all Claims teams including Ancillary, Medical, and Hospital and included into future solutions
  • Present improvement ideas and build business cases for claims leaders to approve and facilitate the implementation of key initiatives end to end.
  • Manage business process improvement initiatives/projects to an agreed project plan
  • Support claims system testing when required
  • Ensure risks and issues are identified and communicated
  • Engage with third party vendor to refine HCF claiming requirements and improve efficiencies.

About You

You will have previous experience in insurance claims and processes. To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven analytical, problem solving and reporting capabilities
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of claims processes, business rules, and systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated with strong teamwork skill
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic business environment and in areas where substantial change is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to recommend and influence decisions
  • Self-motivated with strong teamwork skills, focus on building solid internal and external business partnerships
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic business environment and in areas where substantial change is require
  • Lean Six Sigma green belt is desirable
