We are currently seeking a Chef to join our small close-knit team at RAAF Base East Sale.

This is a permanent full-time position working across a rotating roster giving you flexibility to manage work life balance.

As a Chef, you will work closely with the lead Chefs to ensure the smooth operation of a high volume, fast paced kitchen. Our team service 4 bars & 4 Mess halls, serving between 15,000 - 20,000 meals per month, over breakfast, lunch & dinner as well special events. Your previous hospitality experience, strong work ethic and willingness to learn will hold you in good stead. This is a hands-on role where you will be required to work in the kitchen as well as undertaking administrative duties.

Duties

  • Ensure efficient preparation and delivery of meal services
  • Operate large-volume commercial cooking equipment
  • Train food production personnel in Ventia's procedures
  • Food Preparation and quality control
  • Maintain a clean & sanitised kitchen

Skills & Experience

  • Commercial Cookery Certificate III, or above
  • Previous experience in a large commercial kitchen & fast paced environment
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations
  • Strong planning and organisation skills
