About the Role:

We have an opportunity for a talented individual to fill the role of Communications Officer at our Kwinana Alumina Refinery. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of communication initiatives, both internally and externally within a highly collaborative and experienced corporate affairs team.

The Communications Officer plays a pivotal role in providing strategic communication advice aligned to our strategic objectives, reputation and fostering an engaged workforce. This role is perfect for an experienced communications professional with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communication:

  • Coordinate impactful internal communications for Kwinana Refinery, including news stories, newsletters, campaigns, messages from leadership, photography, and videos.

  • Assist in broader business internal communication campaigns and initiatives.

External Communication:

  • Coordinate key external communications, encompassing media releases, advertising, speeches, and presentations.

  • Assist in managing media inquiries and responses in collaboration with the Corporate Affairs team.

  • Contribute to broader business external communication campaigns and initiatives.

Events, Campaigns, and Initiatives:

  • Lead the coordination of internal and external events for the refinery and its host communities.

  • Support diversity campaigns and initiatives.

  • Coordinate branding and collateral for Kwinana Refinery.

What you can bring to the role:

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Bachelor of Communications or related discipline (desirable).

  • Experience in corporate communications with a knowledge of or experience in the resources sector would be an advantage.

  • Familiarity with the local Kwinana, Cockburn, and Rockingham communities would be great but not essential.

  • Great communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • A curious mind and an ability to build relationships at all levels of our operations.
